Spread The Shine: Pass It Forward

Today, I have a really special treat for you. Have you met Ashley from The Shine Project? She is beautiful, both inside and out. And she has a new project that she is letting me have a small part in.
I am so thrilled to share it spread the word about her amazing new brain child: Pass It Forward

So how are we going to spread the shine?

Glad you asked! In her own words Ashley explains: "Pass It Forward was designed to get people to do little things, everyday, that makes an impact on the community around them. Pass it Forward is designed around a card. Each card is given a unique ID number. Lets say we're at McDonalds, and I decide to pay for the person behind me in the drive through. I'd give the cashier the card, and tell them to pass it along to the next car when the give them the food that has been paid for. I then go home and log into the website that was on the card, and find my unique ID number. I log into it, and add my information... My first name, city, and a description of what I did....
Let's say the person behind me was you, you would pass it forward to someone else, and then would go home and do the same thing. From the very beginning, you will be able to track where your card goes, and how many people you affect just by doing one simple act of kindness."

You guys, this is going to be HUGE. I can't wait to receive my card and spread the shine. I've already been a part of movements like this such as Passion To Action and individuals commited to change like Mrs. Sonshine. But I've never been a part of a group where you can tract the random act of kindness from the verrrrrrry begining.

Love it.

I've got a few ideas floating around in my head about what I'd like to do: Leaving a generous tip for my waiter, , helping a mother with her groceries, bringing someone a meal, or just waiting until I see a need and filling it.

But I am totally into suggestions... anyone have any great ideas?

Help me figure out how to spread the shine!

Baby Fever

Call me crazy, but I've got baby fever.
BAD.

Lately I've been thinking back to my pregnancy, 5ohBaby's birth, and those first few days when time seemed to stand still around her.

Email me for details on my amazing photographer

5ohHubby and I have been talking about it a lot lately. He is a major planner and he has always said he didn't want to start trying again until 5ohBaby is one. Well, she turns one next month.

We've been having a little practice with two kids lately. Every so often my sister and I will switch and we will each watch both kids so the other can get some things done.

At first, it was a little overwhelming to have two kids in the house.

But then I saw how well they played together.

I realized that with two kids, they can entertain each other.

SWEET.

Watching 5ohBaby play with our nephew has solidified our desire to have another kid. Just look at how she looks at him.

Melt my heart.

We are moving into a new house next month. The bedrooms are a little but smaller but there is a huge playroom for 5ohBaby so we are really excited about it. Last night I asked 5ohHubby what we would put in the extra room and he said "We don't need to worry about that now... it's just going to be a nursery soon, anyways.

Well, I guess that's that.  :-)

P.S The winner of the group giveaway is Meghan from Struggling Cyster! Congrats girl! Email me :-)

Advertising for March on 5ohWifey is now open! I love to promote other bloggers, small businesses, and non-profits on this site. March is going to be a very exciting month for this little blog! In February, we started The Girl Behind The Blog link up and will be continuing it in March. If its as successful as it was in February, your ad will have access to over 90 new blogs on one day alone! More exciting than that, I am going to my first blogging event and am expecting a lot of exciting things to come from that! Plus there this blog is getting a long over due makeover!

Who reads 5ohWifey? Everyone. Ok, maybe not everyone.... but every type of someone. Since the topics on this blog range from babies to badges this blog has quite a wide reach. When I started this blog in 2010, not even my mom read it. Needless to say, our readership has expanded dramatically. Over the past 6 months we have had a growth rate of 300%. Not quite as impressive as the 5,500% growth since last year at this time... but still. Since the beginning of 2012 this blog has doubled it's readership! Awesome.

Yes, I actually figured out the formula for this. No, I'm not kidding. Yes, I checked the math twice.

I also advertise on other blogs making your ad here go twice as far. You advertise with me, I advertise with others, they advertise with still others and its basically awesome. This is a perfect opportunity for your blog or small business to get exposure to both the mommy and the law enforcement community.
